Is Your Commercial Garage Door Suffering with One Of These 4 Problems?

Commercial garage doors are often opened and closed frequently throughout the course of each day, and while they’re robust and sturdy when purchased from a reputable manufacturer and installed professionally, they will inevitably experience some problems as time passes and their usage increases.

If your commercial garage door has begun to show signs of any of the four problems listed below, then it’s time to seek professional help at the earliest:

  1. Torsion springs that are worn down or broken

Without fully functioning torsion springs, you’ll struggle to open and close your commercial garage door successfully, and if you continue to struggle without getting the problem fixed, you could cause the springs to snap. Potentially hazardous, you’ll want to avoid this problem at all costs, and have the springs professionally fixed or replaced, as soon as possible.

  1. Tracks that are damaged

Traveling on the tracks every time your garage door moves up and down, these are easy to damage and often become warped or bent. If you notice any distortion in your garage door tracks at any time, it’s best to have an expert assess and repair the issue for you, or if necessary, replace the tracks altogether.

  1. Rollers that are dirty or damaged

Enabling the garage door to smoothly run along the tracks, the rollers are an important element of any garage door, and should be maintained appropriately; usually with cleaning to prevent a build up of dirt, dust and debris. Fail to do this regularly (or have a garage door technician do it for you) and your garage door will soon begin to stick and become difficult to open and close smoothly. But it’s not only dirt that can affect the rollers, general wear and tear can, too.

Clean the rollers at least twice a year and lubricate them – you can seek help from a garage door technician if you’re not sure how to do it – to help keep them functioning properly. Should the problem persist even after cleaning and lubrication, they may need to be replaced, and a local garage door company will be able to help you with this.

  1. Panels that are worn out or damaged

While you might think that a damaged or dented garage door is merely a cosmetic issue, be warned that it can quickly cause problems with areas of the door, including the rollers, springs and tracks. So, if your garage door becomes damaged in any way, don’t wait to get it repaired, lest it lead to other, costlier problems further down the line.

For help with any of the problems listed above, or if your commercial garage door simply isn’t performing as it should, don’t wait until the problem becomes worse (which it inevitably will), instead, call up a local garage door servicing and repair company as soon as possible.
